Last spring, a friend of the college generously gifted several Ancient Greek vessels to the Ken Ferguson Teaching Collection. We thank Michele Fricke for connecting her friend to the ceramics department! The pieces were unearthed on the island of Sicily, and are believed to be everyday wares from the Classical (c. 480 — 330 BCE) or Hellenistic (c. 330 — 146 BCE) periods.
Over the summer a donation of several pieces was made to the Collection Room by Donald Clark. The artists of these eleven works are Steve Frederick, Ron Meyers, Rebecca Harvey, Micah Sherrill, Deb Schwartzkopf, Alfarería Jiminez, Matthew Metz, Michael Corney, Lisa Orr, Sam Taylor and Linda Christanson. Much thanks to Donald for his gift (and great taste)! Donald Clark is project manager of The Marks Project – check it out at http://themarksproject.org.
