This Friday, October 2, six students from the KCAI ceramics department have a show opening as part of Leedy-Voulkos’s “Undergrad Underground” series.

The students (Donut Goshorn, Maggie Demeulmeester, Melanie Johnson, Angelina Yang, Erika Hiebert, and Leah Nelson) joined George Timock on his final study abroad trip to Kesckemét, Hungary in summer 2015. Informed by a class in architectural drawing and research into Hungary’s manufactories, the students used slip casting and hand building techniques to experiment with the qualities of one of the most delicate ceramic materials: porcelain.

The opening night hours are from 6 – 9 pm.
